In a stunning announcement, Eugene has declared that Springfield is the best. Recent reporting from local, on-the-ground journalists at the eponymous Eugene Weekly has placed Springfield's The Block Party at second place in the annual contest for "Best of Eugene: Neighborhood Event".

This reporter notes that in rules of "Lining Up" (or "Queuing" as they call it in Springfield, England), rule number two states, "Second is the best".

When reached for comment, Springfield provided this response, "While we would never disparage the character of the country's longest running open-air market, we are proud to be Eugene's favorite event."

Springfield's The Block Party 2026 is scheduled for the Friday after Labor Day.
